An ongoing discussion about conservatism in New Jersey.
Gregg M. Edwards  (Contributor)
Gregg M. Edwards is the founding President of the Center for Policy Research of New Jersey (CPR). Started in July 2002, CPR is an independent non-profit organization that develops and promotes free-market solutions to the public policy challenges facing New Jersey and its residents.

Mr. Edwards is a recognized expert on NJ fiscal policy whose influential op-eds have been published in all of the major daily newspapers circulating in New Jersey, including the New York Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer. He is also a frequent guest on television and radio public affairs programs.

Prior to forming CPR, Mr. Edwards was the Executive Director of the New Jersey Senate (1994-2002). In that role, he was intimately involved with the writing of laws that reduced automobile insurance costs, prohibited unfunded State mandates, deregulated the electric utility industry, and made government records more accessible to the public. Mr. Edwards also served as Chief of Staff to U. S. Representative Bob Franks during Congressman Franks's first term.

A New Jersey native, Mr. Edwards was twice elected to the Hamilton Township Board of Education (Mercer County) and served as board president for two years. He also served on Hamilton's zoning and planning boards. A graduate of Grinnell College (Grinnell, Iowa), Mr. Edwards was also a graduate fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University.
